My neighbours had lots to celebrate this year - two big birthdays and a decade of happy marriage - so they decided to hold a Fete themed party on the village recreation ground.

We were treated to a hog roast, Punch and Judy Show, a cake stall (we all contributed cakes) a bar (we added to the drinks on offer), a dog show, bouncy castle, races, welly-wanging....it was awesome. (and free!)
The sun shone which was a huge bonus after a dodgy unpredictable week and we lounged around catching up with friends while the children hurtled around wearing off butter-cream induced energy. I used my wonderful wagon to lug our inflatable camping sofa which I adorned with a floral throw and cushions- it was much admired!

At the end there was even a prize giving and we all agreed it was an unusual, uniquely British but fabulous party!
