I love flicking through new recipe books but I have to admit to feeling slightly disappointed when a vegetarian recipe book dropped through my letterbox from the "Love Food" range from Parragon.
Before non-meat eaters start hurling abuse and turnips at me it's not that I have anything against people expressing their beliefs through what they eat, it's just (I'm sorry) but I really like meat.
But vegetarians and meat-eaters alike will love this little book which has a whole host of lovely recipes ranging from the ultra-simple like penne in tomato sauce with two cheeses to the more complicated and original Borlotti bean, tomato and onion salad with eggs.
Many of the recipes use low-cost ingredients so would be great nutritious choices for students or others on a tight budget. 9that would be me right now!) whilst others offer inspiration for carnivores wondering what to serve their veggie friends.
Planning a BBQ? Check out the sweet potato and (veggie) Halloumi burgers which you could fry to serve alongside more traditional meaty choices. And the parsnip layered casserole would make a great alternative to lasagne.
There are dessert suggestions too - although i am fairly certain I might have thought of rice pudding myself, I quite fancy having a go at the sticky coffee and walnut sponges.
The compact book contains 150 recipes in total and the RRP is just £5.99. It's nicely laid out with clear ingredient lists and method explanations and lots of lovely photographs of the finished dish.
Head to Parragon's website to find this and lots of other fabulous recipe books.
