It's that time of the day- when the munchies strike and you fancy something sweet but aren't sure what to eat to satisfy those cravings without blowing an entire days calories.
I always carry snacks in my handbag as I turn into a complete monster when I'm hungry and was glad to learn that the United Biscuits (UB) Go Ahead! range I like has been extended.
My favourites up until now were the crispy slices but having tried the new Cherry Bakewell Pud Bakes I think I have a new favourite.
Not that I'd turn my nose up at the new cookie bites - I loved the white chocolate and raspberry variety while the cheeky chocolate and orange cookie bites proved very more-ish.
Thankfully all the snacks are carefully portioned so you can keep a track of what you are eating. Calorie count ranges from just 98 calories per bag for chocolate orange cookie bites to 141 calories for the pud bakes. (Although the calorie count was higher for the pud bakes they did feel very indulgent and satisfying!)
All the other nutritional information you might need is clearly marked on the front of each packet. As with any other food it's worth checking this out because low calorie does not always mean low sugar or low fat and it's best to make an informed decision on what you are eating.
In fact "snack smart" is the message United Biscuits is aiming to get across to customers - you may have already seen the advert featuring music by Jason Derulo where an office worker transforms into a dancing GIF.
Disclaimer: I was sent a selection of Go Ahead! snacks to try for the purposes of this review. Views and opinions remain honest and my own.
