My older children were huge fans of Ratchet and Clank - a loveable kind of cat-type creature and his little robot friend who had many adventures on the Playstation platform.
My younger children love the games too- the benefit of having older siblings and a mother who can't throw away a games console no matter how old it is
means they are among the lucky few of their age range to know all about Ratchet And Clank.
Luckily a new movie has just been released along with a Ratchet and Clank PS4 game for a whole new generation of what I am sure will soon be mega-fans.
We went along to see the movie recently and I was glad to see it was one of those clever films which
manages to entertain both children and adults - I was laughing within the first couple of minutes.
The story reprises the plot from the early games and references other games of the time, much to the amusement of my teens who loved looking out for "secret" references. Spot the celeb voices - John Goodman and Sylvester Stallone no less!
My younger children sat transfixed as the good vs evil tale unfolded. Did good triumph? Will there be a sequel? You'll just have to watch the movie yourself - it's out now.
And the game - if I tell you its entering it's second week at number 1 in the UK's game charts I think that says it all!
Disclaimer: We saw the movie free for the purposes of this honest review.
