I am well known for my obsession with Cath Kidston. I own many bags plus aprons, clothes, towels, kitchenware, a peg bag, sewing basket, notebooks, oven gloves....
My friends and family know they can't go wrong with Cath. My son has already assured me my Christmas present features one of the familiar designs.
Imagine my excitement recently when I spotted that blogger friend Louise from A Strong Coffee was wearing Cath Kidston glasses. She told me she got them from Specsavers - that didn't surprise me actually as they always have a great range of designer frames. I got my lovely Roxy frames from my local branch in Tring.
Obviously I had to have a look at the new range next time I popped into town. And obviously once seen there was no way I was leaving without a pair. Or two actually thanks to Supersavers "two pairs for the price of one" deal.
As always I handed myself over to the wonderful care of the staff at the Tring branch. My whole family has been going there for a while now and I have always been impressed with how thorough they are. Like all Supersavers branches they offer tests for all aspects of eyecare. Having diabetes and a family history of glaucoma I am grateful for the reassurance these checks offer.
Last year they picked up on an issue my daughter had with her eyes. They referred her to the GP who referred her to our local hospital where she had day surgery. She no longer has a wonky eye and doesn't need to wear glasses any more!
Checks done, prescription sorted and it was on to the fun bit. Choosing frames.
I tried every single pair of Cath Kidston frames in the range, including the ones aimed at children/teens and people with petite faces. I loved the bonkers floral 50's inspired frames but the tactful assistant suggested that maybe a different style would suit me better.
I chose a black-framed pair with cheery red floral arms. I really love the design which allow me to express enough of my personality without being completely bonkers.
For my second "free" pair I chose frames with black floral arms and a different style round the lenses.
I picked up my glasses (with anti-glare coating added because of all the time I spend staring at screens) just one week later. They are comfortable thanks to the precise adjustment of the technician wanting to make sure they fit absolutely perfectly over my ears and were not too loose or too tight.
Already I have had loads of compliments and absolutely love my new glasses. Now I really can wear Cath Kidston from head to toe!
Disclaimer: I was given a voucher to cover the cost of my glasses to enable me to write this honest review.
