Oh Yes. I did it. I mentioned the C word and it's only October. But in my defence the Press Officer who sent me details of this Christmas menu is very lovely and genuine niceness goes a long way in my book. Or more to the point, on my blog.
I first visited Spaghetti House last year with food bloggers when I thought I was reviewing the Christmas menu for 2016. Turns out I wasn't but it was still a very nice meal. I titled my review Spaghetti House-Don't Be Put Off By The Name and I stand by that!
I went again to a different branch of the family owned business with my family (see the review here) and was blown away not only by a very nice meal but really good service, especially considering we had my son who has ASD (autism) with us and he was feeling anxious and not particularly cooperative. The considerate staff soon had him feeling relaxed and enjoying himself with some yummy pizza
So thanks to those two experiences and for the very lovely Luisa, here's all the info about Christmas at Spaghetti House.
Get your Christmas party off to a cracking start at Spaghetti House, London’s independent Italian restaurant group, with great food, friendly service and plenty of Christmas crackers to take care of your celebrations.
Partying starts early at Spaghetti House, with the festive menu available from 1 November right through to 24 December, lunch and dinner. Celebrate in style without breaking the bank with menus starting at £18.95 per person for two courses (£25.95 including half a litre of wine) or £22.95 for three (£29.95 with half a litre of wine). Both menus offer vegetarian choices to suit everyone at the table.
This year’s Menu di Natale - Christmas Menu - is affordable yet very tasty and does not skimp on the quality of the ingredients, which are carefully sourced, freshly prepared, cooked and readily served by head chef Achille Travaglini and his team.
Delectable starters include classics such as Oak Smoked Scottish Salmon with horseradish cream, bread & butter and Prawn Cocktail with avocado, tomatoes & Mary Rose sauce; a refreshing Mozzarella di Bufala – tomatoes, black olive, capers and lamb’s lettuce; and a warming Pumpkin Soup – with crème fraiche & rosemary focaccia.
Be tempted by a main course of Roasted Salmon Fillet with wilted spinach, herb sauce & parsley potatoes or Pollo Crema e Funghi – an all-time favourite chicken in cream & mushroom sauce, green beans & potatoes.
If it’s tradition you are after, the best Roast Norfolk Turkey is served with all the traditional trimmings and cranberry sauce, whilst for pasta lovers there is a main of Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli with spicy tomato sauce, crushed red chillies & cherry tomatoes.
Leave room for a scrumptious dessert from a choice of Traditional Christmas Pudding, or go Italian with Mini-Panettone with mascarpone cream, Torta di Mele or Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake with vanilla gelato. There is also a Tagliere di Formaggi – a tempting cheese platter with home-made quince jelly & artisanal bread for a £2.50 supplement.
With many of the restaurants offering private rooms from 12 to 50 people, Spaghetti House is a great choice for any kind of Christmas event this year. From the first Spaghetti House to open in Goodge Street, Fitzovia, where you can book a table or a whole floor just for your party, to the restaurant in Haymarket’s theatreland where you can take in a Christmas show too, find your Spaghetti House at www.spaghettihouse.co.uk
