This year we were supposed to be heading to Venice in May and Cyprus in July but instead we will be exploring the UK - and despite being disappointed about postponing our foreign trips I am really excited about our British breaks!
My autistic son can find international travel very stressful. Although we have worked out that booking special assistance really helps it will be nice to be able to pack up his familiar bedding and toys and head somewhere for a break without the anxiety that airport security induces in me, never mind him. And no weight limits either!
We were canny and booked a break in Hastings a few months ago taking advantage of a COVID guarantee and we are also heading to the Cotswolds for the amazing Cornbury Festival which has put lots of measures in place to make this year's (outdoor) festival even safer than ever. To be honest it was never crowded and the facilities were always clean so no worries there.
I'm hoping also to go camping in the New Forest with The Camping and Caravanning Club who still have some spots available this year - join up and enjoy exclusive benefits and discounts. We love their Camping in the Forest sites which are relaxed and allow you to fully appreciate nature.
We are so excited to see more of our own beautiful country even if it does mean packing for all seasons in one week.
Where are you going for a holiday this year?
