Do you know a train mad youngster who would love nothing more than a fun springtime day in the Enchanted Woods complete with a meet-up with the Easter bunny and a real live fairy, a walk to look for more fairies and elves in their handmade homes and of course a ride on a miniature train? Then you need to check out Audley End Miniature Railway in Essex.
My grandson adores trains of all sizes so I know he would love a day out here riding the train even without the added extras Audley End offers. There's an adventure playground and a new nature corner where you can see and learn about bug hotels, hedgehog habitats, wormeries and bird boxes and of course a lovely cafe offering locally sourced and homemade goodies.
Between 29th March-14th April visitors can enjoy lots of extra experiences including a live show and guest appearances by Violet the Flower Fairy and the Easter Bunny with springtime souvenirs for the children.
Visitors are advised to book in advance - prices vary depending what day you choose to visit and the height of your child. Audley End Miniature Railway is near Saffron Walden in Essex. They offer autism and SEN Springtime Surprise sessions, disabled parking and free carer tickets. Under 1's go free.
